@readwritemiddle: Before students can write strong paragraphs, they need opportunities to practice writing strong sentences! ✏️ The good news? Sentence-level writing practice doesn't have to mean adding another lesson to your already packed schedule. You can incorporate it into the texts your students are already reading! Three simple ways to get started: ✏️ Sentence combining: Help students combine ideas into more complex sentences. ✏️ Sentence completion: Have students complete sentences using information from a text. ✏️ Paraphrasing: Give students opportunities to restate information in their own words. I've started incorporating more sentence-level writing practice into my reading comprehension resources, including my recently updated History of Halloween activity! 🎃 Do you incorporate sentence-level writing practice into your middle school ELA lessons?
