@gidoctor0: Someone pregnant is choking. Would you know what to do? Use chest thrusts instead of abdominal thrusts. If they can cough strongly, encourage coughing and stay with them. If they cannot breathe, speak, or cough effectively: 1. Have someone call 911, or call on speakerphone. 2. Lean them forward and give 5 firm back blows between the shoulder blades with the heel of your hand. 3. If the food hasn’t cleared, stand behind them and wrap your arms under their armpits. Place your fist on the breastbone, away from its bottom tip, cover it with your other hand, and give 5 quick inward chest thrusts. 4. Repeat until the blockage clears or they become unresponsive. Stop as soon as they can breathe or cough strongly. If they become unresponsive, lower them onto a firm, flat surface and start CPR with chest compressions. Never blindly sweep fingers inside their mouth.
