Recently joined a pottery studio where they allow for unlimited “studio” time which is essentially just free practice time outside of class. This is encouraged to get actually decent at throwing on the wheel. I am able to get out of my house a COUPLE times a week for short windows of time because I am a stay at home mom and can only go when my husband is able to be home with our daughter and we don’t have other obligations to attend to. I recently made a progress milestone in class and was praised for putting in the work and practicing outside of class time. To which SEVERAL other students in the class chimed in and said “yeah well I would be good too if I didn’t have a full time job”……not sure how in this day and age we are still having to defend that motherhood is the hardest job one could have honestly and you DON’T clock out. I use every free block of time I can find to be there and practice and I’m still put down as not doing enough because it’s not a corporate job lol. Mind you they all have more free time than me and zero kids 😭😭😭😭😭

as a mom who HAS to work to have a 2 income household, I would do anything to stay home with my babies. it kills me having to drop my 3.5 year old off at daycare every day when he asks me to keep him home. it kills me every time he asks me if we can find money so I can stay home with him.
