Sleepovers were such a fun part of my millennial childhood. I hated that I grew up and learned so many people had trauma around it.

For my daughter's 10th b-day we did a "SleepUNDER" party. From 4p to 9p. Everyone wore their PJs. We did crafts, karaoke, dancing, board games, movie & popcorn, makeovers, etc. And at 9p, parents were at the door ready to pick up their kiddos 😁

I do feel bad bc sleepovers were absolutely my fav birthday parties to go to & nothing ever happened to me thank God. Their parents also made sure there were no boys allowed! No dads no brothers 🙅🏽♀️

This is so sad to me because I grew up staying the night at friends houses and having sleepovers all the time. And now no one can trust your kids to go anywhere and it’s horrible. It’s sad. Our kids will never have the childhood that we had.

Listen my son is 11 and has to travel for a conference next week. IM COMING AND HES STAYING IN MY HOTEL ROOM. Idc idc idc. I don’t know what those other kids have been exposed to so I can’t chance it

Its not happening! My son has been asking me since last year (he’s 8) and I say no every single time! It’s not just the adults you have to worry about, you have to worry about the kids too!

We?!?! lol I had a great sleep over experience… not taking that from my child … cause things can happen outside of sleepover and sometimes in the same house hold …with relatives …. Blood relatives… at school etc. teach your kids to communicate

I feel like not allowing sleepovers is instead living and teaching trauma instead of breaking curses. I would much rather educate my child,vet parents etc… instead of just isolating them from situations

Every sleep over I went to I was SA’d and it was always by other older girls. So for my son the answer is HELL NO!! My son doesn’t sleep over anywhere.

I compromised by being the sleepover house 😅 sometimes I am SHOCKED that parents I barely know will willingly let their kids come sleepover but at the same time I’m like THANK god it’s me and they’re safe 😭

A thought…because sleepovers as a millennial were a core memory in my childhood and of girlhood, how can we instead curate that experience someway somehow. Hotel parties? Maybe moms coming together for the collective of the daughters to give the experience. Idk I absolutely get it but also want the girls to be able to have the experience somehow.
