I would definitely appreciate the radical changes that Velma did a lot more if it felt like the creators of it actually liked Scooby doo in the first place. I can't say for certain their opinion on the shows itself, but it certainly felt like they disliked either the original show, or the people who liked the original shows, and that soured my opinion on it much more then anything else.

I really wanted Velma to be good but it was way too mean spirited to enjoy as a Scooby Doo franchise. I feel like a core part of the mystery gang is that they have to actually like being around each other.

I think the biggest issue is that the changes don't work or clash with predetermined facts. Fred comes from the poorest family in the group and they reduced Daphne to s damsel in distress something writters for scooby doo have spent years trying to change

The pilot was so odd because it seemed like it wanted to be a parody of Riverdale… but Scooby Doo has never been adapted into a Riverdale-like format (even though I think that would eat) so it just made the satire feel really hollow + random?

I was excited for a new depiction of Velma, till it became obvious that she was treated like a mean girl self insert. I liked the diversity, even found the Daphne Velma romance to be a fun idea at concept, but even the relationship it seemed like it was mishandled. Reads to much like how a straight person would imagine a queer relationship to act.

Me and my boyfriend enjoyed Daphne a ton in the show, she was a lot more interesting and funnier than like the rest of the cast unfortunately
