Manual= needs the parking break. Auto/ new cars= you do NOT need to use it. Actually it can break overtime. If parking on flat ground DO NOT USE. Slight incline? Turn your wheels towards or away from curb (uphill; away from. Downhill; towards). Now on major inclines ABSOLUTELY. When working on a car ABSOLUTELY. You do NOT NEED TO USE IT EVERY TIME. ~your friendly car girly~

i learned in drivers ed its just for if youre parkkng uphill or downhill so the car doesnt roll😭 cuz if its flat where ur parking u dont have to worry bout rolling

And also let’s not forget put the parking brake BEFORE you let off the regular break and putting it in park. That little roll back u feel when u let off the beak and park isn’t good for ur car. U want to put the parking break before it gets into that position. Get me?
