John Stamos, 63, received the Bob Saget Legacy Award on Tuesday, Oct. 13. It was given at the Scleroderma Research Foundation’s Cool Comedy Hot Cuisine fundraiser. The award, introduced in 2023, honors people who raise awareness and money for scleroderma research, as Saget did. Coulier sent a video message instead. “I’m so sorry that I can’t be there,” he said. “I’m here on a tractor in Michigan.” He told Stamos, “You and Bob have always been like beautiful sisters to me, and I love you very much.” He ended with a quick John Stamos impression. Coulier has faced his own health challenges. In November 2024, he said he had been diagnosed with stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Five months later, he said he was cancer-free. In December 2025, he announced a tongue cancer diagnosis. In February 2026, he said he was in remission. Stamos told PEOPLE the award means a lot. “It makes me sad that [Bob]’s not here giving it to me. But it’s an honor,” he said. “This is a legacy.” Saget turned to scleroderma advocacy after his sister d*ed from the disease in 1994 at age 47.
