@ilekkiya_s: This Deepavali, I’m thinking about the magic my Amma created, the traditions I’m carrying forward as a mom, and the light I’ve learnt never to dim within myself. 🪔✨🪷 I lost my Amma when I was just 8 years old, and becoming a mom has helped me understand her in ways I was too young to understand. The traditions, the little details, the beauty, and the magic that she created during celebrations like Deepavali. I now find myself carrying that same magic forward for my own children. 🤎 Motherhood has also taught me that being a mom doesn’t mean losing yourself. You can pour your heart into raising your children while still pursuing your dreams, passions and ambitions. As a creator, representation has always been close to my heart. I know how colourism shapes who is celebrated, who is considered beautiful and who gets to be seen – and I will always challenge those narratives. That’s why celebrating with @M·A·C Cosmetics means more to me than words can ever describe. Seeing my identity and story represented reflects something I’ve always stood for and a journey I’ve worked so hard to build. This Deepavali, I’m honouring the magic my Amma left behind, the magic I’m creating for my children, and the importance of making space for every woman and every story to shine. ✨
