people who are blaming the parents are crazy as people of color we should be teaching out kids that some cops are bad but we should also be teaching them theres good cops out there and this isn't just for people of color every parent should teach their kid at a certain age that sure there cops are here to help us but there are some bad cops our there. I was taught this when I was her age im 18 now and I thank my dad for teaching me.

The terror in the poor child’s eyes! Her space should have been respected. I understand what the cop was trying to do, especially when mentioning that she was a mom of a 9 year old. But you don’t know her lived experience. Reality is that there is deep trauma in our marginalized communities when it comes to cops. Even she has to recognize that “we are not all bad” It’s systemic.
