@uncutheroes_: Early social media reactions and "leaked" critic impressions for DC’s Clayface are overwhelmingly positive, following the lifting of the early social media review embargo. Written by Mike Flanagan and directed by James Watkins, the film stars Tom Rhys Harries as Matt Hagen. Critics are widely praising it as a groundbreaking entry for DC Studios. A "Hard R" Body Horror Film: Multiple reviewers note the film is a brutal, stomach-churning horror experience that holds nothing back. Early test screenings from earlier in the year even teased it as potentially the "goriest comic book film ever made," showcasing highly visceral, practical effects. Tragic Villain, Not an Anti-Hero: Unlike many modern comic book villain films, critics emphasize that Clayface fully embraces Matt Hagen's descent into a true, dark villain. It is heavily compared to classic sci-fi horror thrillers like David Cronenberg’s The Fly and Sam Raimi’s Darkman. #clayface #jamesgunn #dc #comics #batman
