Yes! I don’t think people really consider how much science goes into the materials used to package products. Some formulas do better in glass while others may do better in plastic

I depot a little but I’m not doing all that shiii, I’ve done it before. The time, they break, I like the packaging and now things are too expensive I need to enjoy my unnecessary packaging 😂

For me depotting works for powders. I found that depotting liquids ruin the formula, and some of these artists are brave to depot sunscreens which are super sensitive to this 😭

we PAY for the packaging too!!! Like all that Hourglass, Charlotte Tilbury, Patrick Ta packaging? 🥺 I broke 3 blushes depotting once and that was IT for me, I said DONE. The only thing I will depot is loose powder and setting sprays

Broke almost every PT blush trying to depot them and then trying to fix the cracks with alcohol ruined the formula and the deepened the shades. It was humbling and now I buy blush pallets instead of individually packaged blushes

I love how the products look laid out, and in my case. I feel it looks luxurious & my client gets to see the products I use on them and even purchase if they like it.

Depoting can be dangerous for liquid makeup because it messes with the preservative system, sometimes the formulas aren't compatible with certain packaging materials too. So yeah, not a great idea. (It's not as big an issue for waxy formulas and powders.)
