I work in the ER, so I've seen traumas come in, people even my age who just..dropped dead. Heart attacks, aneurysms, etc. I've only worked here for 2 yrs and it quickly shifted my perspective. Life can be over in the blink of an eye, with no warning.

I almost died of sepsis over the summer. My appendix ruptured and the hospital didn't believe me or the ct scans. im only 34 and I know my friends and family would have been devastated. sepsis is sneaky and silent.

My husband got poison ivy and it was spreading throughout his body. He was on one course of steroids and it kept getting worse. Forced him to go to the ER and the doctor was an asshole who didn’t want to treat him anymore. I made a stink about it and got him treatment. I know I was embarrassing but this just reassured me that it was the right thing to do. I’m sorry for your loss. You have to be the advocate for your loved ones.
