John wasn’t innocent either. He wasn’t always kind to Colin, as shown on Jon & Kate Plus 8, and he should have fought sooner to find and protect his son instead of waiting for Colin to reach out. Thankfully, he eventually received Colin’s letter, took him in, and gave him the love and support he needed. It’s heartbreaking that Colin was sent away because of behavioral issues and left isolated from his mother and siblings. Children can struggle without being treated as if they’re monsters. If Kate couldn’t care for him, she could have asked John to raise him. Instead, Colin lost years with his family and may carry that pain for the rest of his life. Now that his siblings are adults, they should put themselves in his place and reach out. They can’t change what happened, but they can help rebuild the family connection Colin deserves. He needs love, support, and a chance to heal—not continued distance. Colin has said Kate didn’t visit him for a year, and she is now suing him over his book instead of trying to repair their relationship. The adults who knew what was happening, including the TLC crew and people close to the family, should also consider what responsibility they had. At the end of the day, Colin deserves family. His siblings can still make a difference by choosing compassion and reconnecting with him. ❤️she go to jail? Pay him back and the adult siblings should be in therapy with him to heal and have a relationship with him.
