@hegelevlaw: Two Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies and a civilian were hospitalized with minor injuries after a crash in West Athens. Authorities said a sheriff's vehicle traveling southbound on Vermont Avenue collided with a black hatchback traveling westbound on 120th Street. The patrol vehicle then struck a fire hydrant at the southwest corner of the intersection, sending water gushing into the street. The collision caused major damage to both vehicles and knocked out power in the immediate area. The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power reported a broken 6-inch water line affecting about 50 customers. The deputies were expected to be released from the hospital soon.
