I remember when I first learned that people on disability can essentially hold onto no financial savings. That’s not just a systemic failure. That is straight up violence against disabled people. We need to do so, so much better as a society in supporting the disabled community

WE ARE ONLY TEMPORARILY ABLED. i was ran over as a pedestrian and had an open book pelvic fracture; my legs were like a wishbone at thanksgiving being ripped apart. i was in a wheelchair immediately and had it not been for my family helping me every step of the healing journey i wouldn't have made it. your life can change in one second.

Well said!! 💜I have been a caretaker for people w disabilities and in the mental health community for 15 yrs and I advocate. The system fails this community in every way. Society as a whole needs to stop being willfully ignorant and allowing it to continue! 👏👏😡
