@bostonglobe: Massachusetts regulators moved to revoke all of the nursing home licenses held by RegalCare, a New Jersey-based company that went on a buying spree in the state after the pandemic, slashed costs, and gutted the quality of care at many of its 12 homes. The action comes after reporting by The Boston Globe Spotlight Team. Deputy Spotlight Editor Gordon Russell explains. Read more at globe.com. RegalCare uses the pharmacy owned by one of its owners. The joint ventures I think need to be looked into.

The biggest issue is- if it closes, where do those folks go? There is already a huge shortage and the ones on Medicaid or have behavior or complex medical issues, will NOT find a bed

I am so happy that state regulators are now taking action. I hope it actually changes the way care facilities implement care for residents/patients and holds them responsible for neglect.

Massachusetts needs minimum care requirements on nursing homes. with fines to nursing homes who fail inspections and raise prices while decreasing care. require nursing homes to show clear legal billing for all patients

But this is the same across the NATION! They are acquiring nursing homes and the ruining them into the ground… taking the money from the most vulnerable and boosting other investments! They all need to be stopped!

This is exactly why I will continue to care for my aging parents at home. I may not be a nurse, but I do care about them and not a profit.
