OCD sees how much you push back and pushes back harder, in my eyes relapse means the ocd came back stronger than we’ve had before, and because we fight so hard sometimes we’re exhausted by the time it comes back harder. Just to know during the relapse, we will come out stronger, and having learned more. The fight never stops we just get stronger

Maybe just get to your parents and figure it out from there. Instead of trying to figure out when to get to your parents. Re channeling something difficult into something hopefully a little easier. I have the same ocd as you and I learn a lot from you.

I have bipolar too, so maybe it's just me, but fall is absolutely ass. I went so long without any obsessions, and fall hits and every night I'm fighting ruminating with full boxing gloves

I wonder if the changing seasons can also be an OCD trigger for a lot of people? My OCD has gotten much worse again out of nowhere just recently and the only explanation I can think of is that it’s just because it’s October. 🤷

@Stmata: This is my life. I am starting therapy next week but have only recently realized/accwpted/recognized that what I’ve been struggling with is OCD. The same kind as you my friend. So addicted to research, so addicted to making the right choice, uncertainty completely unacceptable

I’ve never had an issue with alcohol, but every time an alcoholic talks about recovery and their experiences I’m like, yeah sounds familiar with ocd. I’m sure there’s major differences, but it’s interesting to hear someone else with ocd make that connection.

As someone who has suffered with OCD for 30 years, I have learned to NEVER quite therapy no matter how well I’m doing. I now maintain a monthly appointment to keep myself in check. OCD likes to creep back in

I hope you can have so much compassion for yourself in this moment. Of course seeing your father was tough, of course your nervous system wanted to rely on familiar means of safety ❤️🩹 you’ve got this
