Check your valve seals, might be flat. Replace coils and plugs while at it

Get a smoke tester. Cheap but reliable way to diag boost leaks

when the car detects either too low or too high boost, it pulls timing and runs on extra safe map so it's good that the car stopped making boost when engine light came on. It could be pretty much anything if you want to diagnose a bit, run wastegate calibration on ista and see if your wastegate actuators move, and buy a cheap smoke machine from amazon to see if any chargepipe leaking
