Apparently that was an assist, not a lift. Go watch Sharna’s latest video! The bigger issue is last season she told Robert “who cares about lifts, no more lift police,” and gave it a 10. She’s too inconsistent. It was a foxtrot where lifts aren’t allowed.

Sharna broke down what is considered a lift vs an assist really well on a recent TikTok and so I think those would be considered assists, not lifts, which is why the judges wouldn’t call it out.

based on sharnas explanation, if it’s a move that can be completed by yourself through flexibility and jumping, but you’re still holding hands with your partner, it’s an assist. If it’s a move that is physically impossible to be completed on your own, then it’s a lift.

I will say though that even Bruno had critiques of Harry and Jenna not listening to his critiques because he mentions the same thing every week. But also hate how Jenna got a paso doble and they have been on her case of being ‘too much’ every week but this week it was all of a sudden fine that she was being ‘too much’

I believe that if they can do the skill without using their partner, it’s not a lift. All Val does during that move is hold her hands and she’s doing the rest. Same goes for in the beginning when she jumps up and both feet leave the ground towards the beginning of her dance.
