Gabe Poirot was 20 years old, with the wind in his face. He was riding his electric skateboard, going nearly 48 kilometers per hour, when he hit something in the road. He was thrown about two meters through the air. He landed headfirst on the pavement. No helmet. It was October 25, 2021. His friend John Michael ran over to him. Gabe was lying unconscious, his eyes closed. And his friend did the only thing that occurred to him: he prayed out loud.

At the hospital, the prognosis was grim. Gabe had a severe brain injury and a skull fracture. Dr. Forrest Moore, vice chair of surgery, explained that outcomes in cases like this are usually poor and that, even if he survived, the chances of being left neurologically devastated were very high. He spent 18 days in a coma. Then comes what can no longer be measured with tests. He claims to have seen Jesus face-to-face: "He was about 1.80 or 1.80 meters tall. He had brown skin, with Middle Eastern features, but at the same time seemed eternal. He was 33 years old, but he was eternal. His hair was medium-length, slightly curly—that’s how I’d describe it. Not very curly, nothing extravagant." Also, according to his own account, during those days he was in heaven and saw, from there, the prayers of his family, his friends, and his community. He woke up feeling like a stranger in his own body. But he woke up. Today, he’s a YouTuber with more than two million subscribers and the author of the book "18 Days in Heaven". No one can verify what he saw. But everyone can see who was by his side while he had his eyes closed.
