@jrslovesmovies: 🦁🔥 MERYL STREEP AS ASLAN!? NARNIA IS WOKE NOW AND CONSERVATIVES ARE LOSING THEIR MINDS! 🏳️‍⚧️😂 I watched the new Narnia: The Magician's Nephew trailer, and I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE MERYL STREEP IS ASLAN!? First of all, I LOVE AND ADORE MERYL STREEP!!! She's one of the greatest actresses of all time, an absolute LEGEND, and I'm genuinely one of her BIGGEST fans! But that doesn't mean I automatically agree with every casting decision! Aslan has traditionally been portrayed as a powerful, majestic MALE lion, and Liam Neeson's deep, commanding voice was ICONIC! So naturally, Meryl Streep taking over the role is a HUGE change! SO WHAT DOES THIS MEAN!? IS ASLAN TRANSGENDER NOW!? 😂🏳️‍⚧️ And you know what!? I WOULD ABSOLUTELY LOVE A TRANSGENDER ASLAN!!! Obviously, a woman voicing a male character doesn't automatically make him transgender, but I would LOVE to see that kind of representation! And apparently, some conservative Christians are FURIOUS about Meryl's casting because Aslan represents Jesus Christ! OH PLEASE!!! IT'S A TALKING LION IN A FANTASY MOVIE! 😂 People are already complaining that Greta Gerwig is making Narnia too WOKE, and I'm over here LOVING THE OUTRAGE!!! WE NEED MORE WOKE MOVIES!!! MORE DIVERSITY! MORE LGBTQ+ REPRESENTATION! MORE CREATIVE FREEDOM! And if that pisses off conservatives, EVEN BETTER!!! 😂🏳️‍🌈 The funniest part is that I'm actually skeptical about Greta's reimagining myself! I think she's taking some enormous creative liberties, and I'm not convinced all these changes are necessary. But there's a difference between questioning artistic decisions and having a complete meltdown because a WOMAN is voicing a fictional lion! I adore Meryl, and I'm sure she'll deliver an incredible performance. I'm just not entirely sold on the direction of this adaptation yet! Is Greta Gerwig's Narnia TOO WOKE, or are conservatives just looking for another reason to be offended!? 👀 #narnia #gretagerwig #trans #filmtok #woke
