To indicate I have finished my bottle of wine, I throw it at the nearest waiter or waitress ensuring it smashes loudly to indicate I am ready for my next bottle.

He’s right. I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for years. The second cheapest is always the most profitable by a large margin for the most part.

Sommelier here—this is completely incorrect. You taste the wine for many reasons. A wine can have more than 10 different faults, of which cork or TCA is just one. For instance, you also check whether the temperature is to your liking. P.S. It is standard practice for the house wine to have the highest profit. Hope this helps.

@Hollywood: I want to be a wine lover so bad but I can’t find the right one for me 😩 I started with moscato because I love sweet drinks but now it’s way to sweet for me, but Riesling isn’t sweet enough. Anyone please help. Also I’ve never been a fan of red

My dad is a wine maker. We don’t hold the glass by the stem, we just drink straight from the bottle.

But William, one must, of course, properly taste the wine; it is the very cornerstone of refined dining etiquette. How else is a gentleman of distinction to determine whether the wretched vintage merits his approval? And should it prove unsatisfactory, one simply expels the offending liquid directly into the sommelier’s face. A gentleman must never suffer inferior wine in silence, William, particularly when a perfectly serviceable face is standing within expectorating distance.
