@tony.yogi: Trauma can have a very real impact on the body. That’s why phrases like “the body remembers” or ideas from The Body Keeps the Score can be so meaningful. They give people language for experiences that are often hard to explain. I don’t think we have to throw that language away. I think we can just hold it with a little more nuance. The body can carry patterns of tension, protection, stress, and reactivity without us needing to think of trauma as a physical object stored somewhere in the tissue. For me, the more useful question is not whether trauma is literally “stored” in the body. It’s what the body is responding to now, what that response is trying to do, and what might help create a greater sense of safety and support. That feels like a more useful place to begin. #HealingJourney #trigger #yogaheals #somatichealing
