Cream & Cookies – Bakersfield, CA Walking over to the Cream & Cookies booth, I was greeted by Elle, who took a few minutes to tell me about her business and how it all started right out of her home. I always enjoy hearing the stories behind small businesses, so that was a nice introduction. I asked what she had available, and she told me she had three cookies: OG Milk Chocolate w/sea salt, Biscoff White Chocolate, and Pumpkin spice brown butter. Let's get into these cookies! First up, the OG Milk Chocolate w/sea salt Cookie. Now, I consider myself a bit of a chocolate chip cookie critic. I know a good chocolate chip cookie when I meet one, and Elle has a GOOD one! First up, the OG Milk Chocolate w/sea salt Cookie. Now, I consider myself a bit of a chocolate chip cookie critic. I know a good chocolate chip cookie when I meet one, and Elle has a GOOD one! She mentioned that the cookies could be warmed up, but I told her, "Nope! If I can't eat a cookie cold and enjoy it, I don't want the cookie." I took this one home and ate it before even thinking about warming it up. Absolutely delicious! Great chocolate flavor, just the right amount of sweetness, and the chocolate chips balanced beautifully with the flavor of the dough. Then came that little sprinkle of sea salt on top, which finished everything off perfectly. I'm in love with this cookie! yeah Elle just so you know I didn't have to warm your cookie up to have it, it was good just like it is. Next was the Biscoff White Chocolate Cookie. This was something new for me. I'm not really a Biscoff person. You know those cookies they hand out on airplanes? ,Hard and burnt tasting...Yeah, I feel like they're just trying to give those things away! Cream&Cookies was different.The cookie was soft, with a nice dough flavor and white chocolate chips. What I appreciated most was that the Biscoff flavor wasn't overpowering. It all came together nicely. Last up was the Pumpkin spice brown butter. I told Elle straight up that I'm not a fan of anything pumpkin. Her response was that I should give hers a try. Meanwhile, my wife is over there salivating over everything pumpkin! Well, I have to give credit where credit is due. This was actually a really good cookie! I only managed to get a couple of bites, but I enjoyed it. It was moist, held together nicely, and didn't crumble apart. For a pumpkin cookie, I have to say... DAMN GOOD! Overall, Elle is putting out some seriously good cookies, and I appreciate hearing the story behind the business just as much as I enjoyed the cookies themselves. cream and cookies also celebrated their 1 year anniversary in July so wish them luck go visit them and support local business. And let me leave you with this: There is only ONE other business in Bakersfield making a chocolate chip cookie that I would put up against this one.
