Worked since I was 16.. got to 7cm and my baby’s heart was going to stop so needed an emergency section. Sorry id rather that than losing my child don’t care the cost

I had my kids “naturally” , my daughter had 2 c sections and it was absolutely not an easier option . Both present their own issues . Yes the pain I had was excruciating but everything went well and I was up and about pretty soon . My daughter was in slow labour for over a week , screaming at the final points he was stuck ( no one listened ) and then had to have an emergency c section. The recovery took ages , the birth traumatised her, the wound kept reopening. It was close to a year before she actually fully recovered

I am so sure nobody is having major abdominal surgery because they want to ‘protect downstairs’ how absolutely ridiculous.

I asked for a c-section cause I heard it was easier. omgg I wish i did it the pushing way. I've had bad never pain all over my body. back & leg pain also. go the natural way always.

The term easier option is so annoying especially coming for a man. Pffff

I'm fairly sure the majority of women who go for a c-section is not because they 'want to protect down there' or 'go for the easier option' 🙄

I think people that’s had an emergency c section would’ve much rather had a natural birth but did it for the sake of their baby.

Definitely wouldn’t say it’s the easy option I am so glad I managed to have my children spontaneously, recovery is so much easier

They’re going for that option because they want to protect downstairs and want an easier option!!! Excuse me! These interventions are being pushed upon women by the midwives. I categorically said I wanted no interventions, my baby was potentially measuring big, they wanted me to have a section at 38 weeks, just incase, I repeatedly said I didn’t want anything. It got to the point where the basically told me, in more professional terms, that if I didn’t have an induction, I’d have a massive baby, they’d have a shoulder dystocia, and if they died it would be my fault. They terrified me into an induction. Surprise surprise, cascade of interventions and I ended up with an emergency c section. Women aren’t too posh to push. The NHS doesn’t want to be sued, doesn’t trust women or support them to birth their own babies, and pushes interventions onto women. Please stop pushing the narrative that women are opting for the easy way out. It’s certainly not an easy recovery. I’m appalled.

£8000 is nothing compared to the cost of a lot of operations in the NHS. What’s the cost of an instrumental? Or a normal delivery? If it causes lifelong continence issues then surely the human cost is even more.

my baby died because of NHS they pushed for me to deliver him naturally and after 4 days I ended up sceptic and rushed for an emergency section DONT EVER call it an easy option!! my next 2 babies had to be delivered by c section because of risk ..I had the choice taken away from me STOP JUDGING MOTHERS !

A natural birth is the “easy” option because it’s what our bodies are designed to do. After two natural births I’d be terrified to have a c section.

I had a natural unmedicated birth. IT WAS THE EASY WAY OUT! Healing after c section, epidural needle etc is hard !!! I’m lucky!

Too many women are also being unnecessarily induced and it ends in a c section

I’d much rather push a baby out, 6-8 weeks recovery for a c section while caring for a newborn is defo not what I’d want if I didn’t have to. I have to have c-section due to medical issues I could die during child birth. The amount of staff needed for a c section is crazy c

Elective c section but for my baby’s health and mine…it’s not the easy way out, caring for a newborn after being sliced open is not easy

kellydavies222 :
firstly c section is not the 'easier' option. secondly i was told c section was my safest form of delivery because my daughter was breach and could have been strangled by her own umbilical cord if I didn't, so medical professionals made that choice inevitable. so its not all black and white
