🇧🇷✊ #Lula #BoraLula #TropaDoLula #MEI #MicroempreendedorIndividual

Ankober, located in the North Shewa Zone of the Amhara Region in Ethiopia, is a historic town perched dramatically on the eastern escarpment of the Ethiopian highlands. Sitting at an elevation of over 2,400 meters, it offers sweeping, spectacular views of the Great Rift Valley below. Beyond its stunning topography and cool mountain climate, Ankober holds immense historical significance as the former capital of the Kingdom of Shewa during the 18th and 19th centuries. The town served as the political, strategic, and cultural epicenter for several Shewan rulers, most notably King Sahle Selassie and later Emperor Menelik II before he relocated the capital to Addis Ababa. During its golden era, Ankober was a thriving hub for regional trade routes connecting the central highlands to the coastal ports of the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden. Royal palaces, churches, and traditional stone structures were constructed atop its formidable hills, utilizing the natural terrain as a powerful defense against potential invasions. Today, Ankober is celebrated both for its rich heritage and its vibrant natural environment. Visitors and historians are drawn to the ruins of the royal palace complex and the ancient churches that dot the landscape, preserving stories of Ethiopia's imperial past. Furthermore, the surrounding cliffs and dense acacia-clad hills make Ankober an exceptional destination for nature enthusiasts and birdwatchers, being home to rare endemic species such as the Ankober Serin (Crithagra ankoberensis).
