there's another way. make a ring out of your fingers (both hands) and wrap it around the can sliding from top to bottom. it releases all the bubbles from the sides using the body heat

It’s not the tapping or the rubbing or anything else that you do to the can or bottle, it’s just the time that you take to do it. Only the passage of time will dissipate the carbon bubbles.

Yeah, he got way more fizz than I’ve ever gotten by tapping the top. Just flick it a few times on the part that opens to drink it. Works perfectly.
