@usct.houston: League City sets 72-hour camera deadline. League City's council voted Tuesday to require city staff to disable Flock Safety cameras within 72 hours if a majority of voters reject them in November. The vote will technically remain nonbinding, but the resolution commits the city to act on a rejection. Council members have cited both the cameras' crime-fighting uses and concerns about privacy and potential misuse. If voters favor keeping the system, a citizen-led committee will review audits, public concerns and privacy protections. #LeagueCity #GalvestonCounty #FlockSafety #LicensePlateReaders #Privacy
Who approved them in the first place? Traffic cameras already exist.
