@shelbysacco5: Rumor has it i haven’t slept in days but I also haven’t stopped smiling 💛✨☀️🌻🫶🏼 slowly but surely figuring nights out!! Right now we are switching and I’m doing more nightttime and then sleeping in while Jake does the morning. I just started pumping so Jake can also feed her with a bottle and I can sleep a little. What are your guys best newborn nighttime tips??? Also @Jake Spinek i am really proud of us 💛 #newbornnightroutine #newmom #nightvlog

always change babies diaper before feeding them! that way they just fall asleep eating and transfer much easier

I have read some studies that keeping baby on dad’s side of the bed can help them sleep longer stretches because the smell of breast milk isn’t as strong from across the bed! Obviously soak up all those newborn snuggles and do what works best for your family but it’s something I’ll be trying when I have a little one. Congrats! She’s perfect!

Everyone saying they’re scared….. don’t be!!!! The first few nights at home you literally have no idea what you’re doing and when you should go to bed and you’re running on adrenaline and pure love I was excited waking up in the middle of the night to hold and cuddle my precious newborn and that excitement and love carried on all day it’s crazy that I wasn’t as tired as you’d think waking up this much but after a couple days at home you get into a better groove!

Pro tip: change her diaper and then feed her (yes they are more fussy) but she will fall asleep feeding so that way you’re not disturbing her after you just calmed her down from feeding!

Yall don’t be scared! The first few days are just like this because everyone is adjusting! Mom, dad and baby. Once she’s on a good routine they will get longer stretches of sleep🫶🏻 it’s truly not scary! I was actually excited to get up with my baby because I just wanted to hold him and love on him 🥹

I had that bassinet, and after the 3rd kid hating it we just switched to mini crib. Did the job so much better, makes the transition to a normal crib easier because it’s not moving. I also lay a heating pad down while I feed, makes the transition from arms to bed easier because the mattress is warm when you lay them down

He didn’t have a name, so I’m naming him Kevin. He came into the shelter as an owner surrender in the field, meaning his owners agreed to surrender him to animal control. Sometimes animal control can work with an owner to get an animal surrendered rather than leaving them in a bad situation. Kevin is skinny, covered in fleas (has been treated at the shelter already) and low heartworm positive. He shakes uncontrollably and there were moments when I would move my hand and he would immediately squint and brace himself. He constantly looked like he was waiting for me to do something horrible to him. Fostering a dog like Kevin can be one of the most rewarding things you’ll ever do. I already know there is a completely different dog underneath all of this fear. He just needs the chance to become him. Please remember that if you adopt or foster a dog like Kevin, you aren’t just signing up for the scared dog you see today. There may come a day when he feels safe enough to be wild and playful. He might chew things. He might not be potty trained. He might have absolutely no idea how to live inside a home. He has likely never had the structure and consistency we expect our pets to understand. He doesn’t know how to be someone’s pet yet.
