@nutritionbyleslie: You ate lunch 20 minutes ago and you’re already thinking about dinner. And the leftover cookies in the break room. And whether you “deserve” them. That’s food noise. And it’s usually not random. Your brain gets louder about food when: 🔸 You haven’t eaten enough yet today, even if you “ate fine” 🔸 A food is on your “not allowed” list, so now it’s all you can think about 🔸 You’re stressed or running on empty, and food is the fastest comfort around So telling yourself to just stop thinking about food usually backfires. Telling yourself not to think about the cookies basically puts a spotlight on the cookies. What tends to turn the volume down is pretty much the opposite of what diets teach. 🥑 Eating enough, earlier in the day. 🍪 Letting foods off the “bad” list. 😫 Noticing what kind of day you’re having before you blame yourself. I’m a registered dietitian who used to live with this, and now help women finally quiet the noise and find food freedom. If this is you too, let’s connect. 🫶🏻 #foodnoise #registereddietitian #ditchdietculture #foodfreedomjourney
