@hotnew73: John Stamos Says Bob Saget Showed Up for Him at His Lowest Point After His 2015 DUI Arrest John Stamos is remembering the friend who was there when he needed him most. Stamos, 63, received the Bob Saget Legacy Award on Tuesday, Oct. 13. It was presented at the Scleroderma Research Foundation’s “Cool Comedy - Hot Cuisine” fundraiser in Beverly Hills, California. Saget was a dedicated advocate for scleroderma research. His sister, Gay Saget, d*ed from the disease in 1994 at age 47. In his speech, Stamos said, “There are a lot of things you don’t get anymore when you lose someone like Bob Saget.” He then told a story about 2015. “I was at the lowest point in my life,” he said. He said he was on his way to meet Saget when he was arrested for a Drnk drving and ended up in the hospital. Stamos said that when he woke up, he saw a bright light and a figure standing over him. “For a second I thought I d*ed,” he said. It turned out to be Saget. “No judgment, no lecture, just concern and love,” Stamos said. “He showed up and he loved me. That’s who Bob was.” He added that Saget was also there when he lost his parents. “He was there when my life fell apart and he was there when my life finally came back together,” Stamos said. Stamos entered a 30-day substance abuse program in July 2015. He later wrote about his alcohol addiction and recovery in his memoir, If You Would Have Told Me. Full House alums Candace Cameron Bure, Lori Loughlin, and Jodie Sweetin joined him on the red carpet.
