The ehlers danlos girlies have been talking about how their nails don’t keep polish. Could be related?

It could be a circulatory issue.

It's just because you use them more. We all use our dominant pointer and ring fingers most. I've worked with my hands my whole life and am old now, and those fingers are the most wrinkled and bumpy hahaha it's just opening car doors, using knives, buttoning your shirts, all the things

Have you changed any hair products post shower lately? Because you tuck your hair primarily with those fingers and most people do it more with their dominant hands - you even do it in this video, reaching across and trucking the opposite side.

I think it’s honestly that those are the most used fingers for allll things, ya know? And as for why now and not before it could be age. I started using a collagen serum on my nails. It’s still early but I feel like it’s making a difference on the peeling especially.

How do you hold a pen? Did you get any new writing/similar things that could maybe be putting different pressure on those two fingers? Or a new computer mouse even?

if you are using them with your person, despite what you sre doing it might be the reason. speaking from experience

Is it on your dominant hand? Sometimes it can be oil related either nail bed or something you're touching

Dominant hand, right? It’s gotta be something in your sleep. Like… you are folding those two nails under your chin, neck, head as a comfort and the extra pressure is messing with them.

My nail gal uses something specific for my nails because I have thyroid issues, and she’s found it works for another one of her clients who also has thyroid issues because it can cause an adhesion issue. Kinda like the Ehlers Danlos adhesion issue. So maybe it’s a thyroid level issue?

Did you hit your hand on something and not think anything of it but maybe it caused some residual nail bed trauma? Because I am constantly ricocheting off of inanimate objects lol

I’ll give a real suggestion, are those two nails shaped differently? I have one finger that I always lose and it’s oddly shaped. I don’t know how to describe it. Instead of the nail being arched, it has a fold. I can’t describe it properly lol. The nail extension thing won’t remain adhered because of the bend as it doesn’t match the normal shape like my other nails.
