I thought I'd spend every day waiting for your name to pop up on my phone, hoping you’d finally realize what you lost. But you know what happened? LIFE WENT ON. And so did I. 🖤 I stopped checking my phone. I stopped wondering what you were doing. I stopped waiting for apologies that were never coming and explanations I probably would never get. And somewhere in the middle of all that silence, I found myself again. I learned that I could laugh without you. Sleep peacefully without you. Enjoy my days without wondering if you were going to be a part of them. I learned that missing someone doesn’t mean they belong in your life. Loving someone doesn’t mean you have to keep accepting their absence. And wanting someone is NOT the same thing as needing them. The hardest part wasn’t losing you. It was realizing how long I had been holding on to someone who was perfectly okay with letting me go. And now? I’m okay. Maybe not the same person I was before, but definitely a stronger one. I don’t hate you. I don’t wish you anything bad. I just finally understand that my peace is worth more than chasing someone who doesn’t choose me. You were a part of my life, but you are not the reason my life is worth living. I can care about you and still walk away. I can miss the memories and still refuse to go back. I can wish things had been different and still accept that they weren’t. And the most powerful realization of all? I didn’t need you to come back.
