That last comment, I am shocked at how many parents I hear tell their children, oh no, you can't play with/have that/use that toy/clothing/etc because it's only for {insert opposite gender of the child}. Is it any wonder that boys that grew up wanting to play dolls being told only girls play with dolls might be confused? Or girls that chose monster trucks and tree climbing over dolls being told only boys like those might be confused?

last dude reminded me of the time a guy at the bar teased me for ordering a 'girly' drink and I just explained to him that I'm not so weak that my masculinity is defined by a pink cocktail. my pink cocktail is a manly drink because I, a man, am drinking it. when we stop performing masculinity for others - especially other men - then the world becomes much less stressful.

that last message by the guy inspired by trans men i read that on tumblr and it clicked for me as a woman too. i was already an ally but i love the JOY transwomen display in their embracing of their womanhood regardless if they pass or not and as a woman who was masc presenting most of my youth well into my 20s it resonated with me too that theres not 1 correct way to be a woman. just have fun with it💖💖
