When I was a para, I wasn’t allowed to look at anyone’s IEP. I was scolded for not following a student’s IEP when I didn’t sign instructions for a deaf student. Not only do I not know sign language, I didn’t even know the kid was deaf until 45 seconds ago when the teacher walked up to the child and put on his cochlear implants.

Im a first year sped teacher with a caseload from a burntout over worked teacher so half of these goals make no sense 😭 and they are not measurable. And service pages dont match LREs..

I took over for a SPED teacher who was completely tapped out, didn’t care, didn’t progress monitor, etc. because she had already told the district she was resigning at the end of the year. Her IEP’s have been trash and I’ve had one hell of a time these last two months fixing and amending her lack of care 😅

the amount of ieps I've gotten with literally no information is ridiculous, present levels where each section is just a few sentences, goals all written by the same person but formatted completely differently, no state standards listed......

I think the worst are the out of state IEPs. It’s like why is it 30 pages of complete nonsense and I can’t find any of the actual information I need and the format is terrible. So I’m basically rewriting the whole thing with a hope and a dream.

When the kids some into middle school with an IEP with 87 accommodations!!!! I’ve called the sending teacher to let them know we support the kids we don’t eat them!!!!
