@neurospicymom_uns: You can understand someone’s behavior, have empathy for their struggles, and still recognize that a relationship is costing you your peace. But here’s the part we don’t talk about enough: Understanding someone’s behavior doesn’t mean you have to excuse it. Their trauma may explain their behavior, but it doesn’t erase the impact it has on you. People-pleasing often comes from a desire for connection, acceptance, or emotional safety. But when belonging requires you to repeatedly silence yourself, ignore your needs, or sacrifice your boundaries, it’s time to ask: Am I maintaining this relationship, or am I abandoning myself to keep it? You can hold compassion for someone else’s struggles without making yourself responsible for their healing. Because you deserve a seat at the table without having to disappear to earn it. 🖤 #TherapyTok #PeoplePleasing #MentalHealthAwareness #SelfAbandonment #HealingJourney
