@rabbit.quicknews: Mike Tyson’s Life After Boxing: A New Netflix Docuseries Revisits the Triumphs and Tragedies of a Champion Netflix’s new four-part docuseries, TYSON, premiered Oct. 13. It looks back at the life of one of boxing’s most famous heavyweights. Tyson was born in Brooklyn in 1966. His father left when he was 2. He told the BBC he was bullied as a child. By age 13, he had been arrested 38 times, according to Rolling Stone. Trainer Cus D’Amato became his legal guardian and mentor. Tyson turned pro at 18. In November 1986, he knocked out Trevor Berbick and became the youngest heavyweight champion in history, at age 20. D’Amato d*ed the year before. “I promised him I’d be the greatest fighter ever,” Tyson says in the series. He finished with a 50-7 record and 44 knockouts. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2011. His life outside the ring was harder. In 1992, he was convicted of r*pe and two counts of criminal deviate conduct. He served three years of a 10-year sentence, with four years suspended. In 2006, he was arrested in Arizona on suspicion of DUI and possession of cocine. He later pleaded guilty to a felony cocine possession count and a misdemeanor DUI count. He has also spoken about dr*g addiction and says he is now “California sober.” In 1997, he bit Evander Holyfield’s ear in a rematch and was disqualified. In 2009, his 4-year-old daughter, Exodus, d*ed after a treadmill accident. Tyson is a father of seven. He told PEOPLE, “Everything bad that happened to me, I’m grateful for.” What do you think of Mike Tyson’s story? #Mike #tyson #Netflix #boxing #Docuseries
