black painters have been seen in texas and I've seen one before n heard stories of them a couple miles away till i saw it. was at a job site central tx next to a river n ngl raised hairs on my body when i saw it. my buddy pulled up n it backed away but felt it's eyes on me the entire time we worked.

About 6 years ago I saw one in Lubbock at a local lake. I was sitting in my car and glanced down at my phone and looked up because I saw something moving next to my car. That thing was huge! It was early in the morning so I turned my car around and turned my brights on. It took off running up a hill but it was jet black with a long tail. I’ll never forget seeing it

Kid you not we had one in Lufkin that stayed back in our woods that my dad caught on our trail camera!! It would come and go as it pleased.
