welcome to womanhood you choose to be pregnant or not to be pregnant to say that's a disability is kind of messed up in my opinion

I’ve had random strangers come pet my service dog’s head without permission while she’s standing between my legs on several occasions. Her head is about two inches from my crotch in that position

I got to use disabled parking when pregnant, God bless that was allowed I went from 100lbs to almost 200 in 6-7 months, there’s NO WAY I would have been able to survive day to day life without it!

When I know someone who is pregnant I’d hug from the side because I’m afraid I’d squish the baby because my disability has me leaning forward most of the time while walking or standing so I hug them from the side. Otherwise I’d hug normally

Yes and we realise things while we are pregnant that we don't see usually (regarding disability but also fatphobia and inaccessibilityyyyyy). But listening to people living those things on a regular basis should be enough

My husband and I are both disabled, but he’s more visibly disabled than I am and has to use a walker. The amount of people who touch his walker all the time like it’s not a big deal and it’s like that’s an extension of their body. What are you doing?

my sister was pregnant I never once touched her belly. I would ask first but also I am not a touchy person unless its my significant other. My family has never been touchy with each other.

So similarly, I was at abilities expo this weekend, and this guy came up to me and started touching me in my chair, but ironically, he was also in a wheelchair.

Even people touching someone’s wheelchair “to help push them” without consent- stop touching their wheelchair, it’s a part of their body and unless you’ve been ASKED to touch it and push them- DONT

It because society accepts and normalizes pregnancy and stigmatizes disabilities. It ok to be pregnant and need accommodations and seen as morally reprehensible to not accommodate. I’m on the fence cos pregnancy is a choice, disability whether that temporarily from an injury or not isn’t a choice, pregnancy disabling parts yes, but the whole experience isn’t , it’s a choice and has a purpose . Accomodations should be available to anyone who needs them for any reason but let’s not call a choice to go thru pregnancy to have a child the same a disability
