ex preschool teacher here…we had drawers or bins for each individual kid and everything that parents sent went right into the kids drawer. and if parents didn’t label an item, we labeled them ourselves. this school is just lazy

Spare clothes usually go into the child’s personal bag. So unless your child’s had an accident they wouldn’t take it out of the bag. So it means that they deliberately went into your child’s bag to use there clothes

I worked in childcare for over a decade. The only time I have ever let a child wear a different child’s clothing is if that parents specifically said that they’re okay with their kids extras being used on other children. If you don’t have daycare spares, and the child has an accident, then you might have to call mom or dad at work. Because situations like this happen.

as someone who's training to become a preschool teacher, even if the parent didn't label it, labeling it if it came with the child is common sense, I wouldn't throw it in a "public use" bin if it came with a child, I would label it myself and call it a day, yeah she messed up by not labeling it but that teacher clearly lacked common sense

People have been giving their reasons why they’re against this, so I’ll give mine. Allergies. A lavender allergy runs in my family, so if me or my brother were given someone else’s clothes, the laundry detergent that family uses could give us hives. A lot of families use special detergent because their kid can’t handle other ones.

My kid's daycare has bins for each child to have spare clothes, blankets, diapers. and wipes. They have a separate bin of spare clothes that are usually donated by parents of kids that have outgrown their clothes.
