@saly.tsuk: A Texas wedding venue, Posey Meadows, is refusing to refund a bride nearly $16,000 after her fiance suddenly passed.#fyp #wedding #texas #viral #lawsuit
My fiends partner passed away a few hrs before his wedding on a car accident. I called the venue place right away to let them know what had happened. They told me they would refund everything and I would just have to pay what they actually paid for the food. But that they will not cook the food. Instead they will help us by cooking the food at another time and help us with a fundraiser. No extra charge and they even allowed us the use the venue for the fundraiser.

Between April and November is plenty of time to book another client and regain any losses. This is pure, callous greed and I hope they get what’s coming to them.

I understand it’s a contract but is that really the type of business you want to run? A situation like this is rare.

It’s a pretty gray area You have a contract, that doesn’t allow cancellations, but is someone passing away an exception 🤔 I think most logical people would say “give the money back”, but, legally, do they have to?

this is so awful. what they're saying is "if you ever get engaged again and your fiance doesn't die, you can use this booking, sorry about your luck"

Refund that money, that can be used for funeral or headstone expenses.

You signed the contract! They’re not a charity.

While sad, a contract is a contract. If that venue refunds her money that's declaring that their contract holds zero legal weight and every future contract could then be canceled for refund as she would be setting a legal precedent.
