@bransonareabreakingnews: 500 Prisoners Escape After Massive Jail Wall Collapses Near Branson A massive jail wall collapse Thursday morning leads to the escape of approximately 500 prisoners in this Branson-area story, triggering a widespread search across the Ozarks. Prisoners scatter into wooded hills, nearby neighborhoods, and tourist areas along Highway 76. Others seek shelter in vacant cabins, storage sheds, parking garages, and buildings around Branson Landing. The search becomes increasingly difficult as some escapees discard their orange jail uniforms and change into ordinary clothing, allowing them to blend into crowds of tourists. Sheriff’s deputies and additional law enforcement personnel search wooded trails, abandoned buildings, and rental properties while investigators examine the extensive structural damage that caused the jail wall to collapse. With hundreds of prisoners scattered across the region, authorities face the enormous task of locating everyone involved. The biggest concern is how many escapees could be hiding in plain sight without anyone realizing who they are.
