Imagine South African taxis getting their hands on a car that can JUMP over traffic! 😂🇿🇦 Tesla’s latest Roadster demonstration has certainly got people talking, and I have to admit, some of the proposed technology is absolutely ridiculous. We’re talking about: 🚀 SpaceX-inspired thrusters that could potentially allow the vehicle to jump. ⚡ A claimed 0–100 km/h time of around ONE SECOND! 🏎️ An active suction system designed to generate enormous downforce, even at low speeds. And personally, I think the suction technology might be one of the most interesting developments. Fan-generated downforce isn’t completely new, but seeing manufacturers explore these technologies could lead to some fascinating performance cars in the future. But here’s where I’m sceptical. Tesla originally unveiled the second-generation Roadster back in 2017, and we’re still waiting for production. Meanwhile, Tesla is increasingly focused on autonomous driving, robotics and other potentially much larger markets. So while the Roadster could be revolutionary if Tesla delivers on its promises, I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting to see one on public roads. And it’s worth remembering that the extreme performance figures and jumping capabilities are proposed claims, not independently verified production-car specifications. Still, you have to give Tesla credit for getting everyone talking about the brand again! What do you think? Is the Roadster the future of performance cars, or is this just another Elon Musk publicity stunt? 👀
