@jerseytalks_: Before Weehawken High... there was the Hamilton School. 🏫 We're on Liberty Place in Weehawken, Hudson County. Long before today's Weehawken High School, this corner was home to the Alexander Hamilton School, dedicated in 1902. Old postcards from the 1900s and 1910s even labeled it the "High School." The Hamilton School came down in 1938. The building you see now went up in 1939 and was dedicated in October 1940, and it's been Weehawken High (red and black) ever since. And just steps from those red doors, at 1 Potter Place: Linda's Place Delicatessen, the little corner deli generations of students know by heart. 🥪 What year did you graduate? And what was your Linda's order? Tell us 👇 Before There Was... is our Jersey Talks series bringing back the places New Jersey remembers. What Weehawken landmark should we feature next? 📸 Photos: Jersey Talks #JerseyTalks #BeforeThereWas #Weehawken #HudsonCounty #NewJersey
