The late afternoon sunlight poured through the windows of the small room, painting everything in warm golden colors. Outside, the world was slowly becoming quieter, but inside, heavy footsteps could be heard approaching the door. Thump… thump… thump… Bludey had finally come home. He pushed the door open with one hand and stepped inside, his large red shirt slightly wrinkled after a long day. His thick hair was messy, and a few drops of sweat ran down his face. He looked exhausted, but there was still a small smile on his face. “Finally… home,” he muttered softly. Bludey dropped his bag beside the wall and stretched his shoulders. He had been out since early morning helping people around town. He had carried boxes for an old shopkeeper, helped repair a broken wooden fence, and even spent nearly an hour helping a little kid find his lost toy. It had been a tiring day. But Bludey didn't regret any of it. He slowly walked toward the living room and sat down heavily on the couch. FLUMP! The couch practically disappeared underneath him. “Ugh…” Bludey sighed, leaning his head back. “My legs are killing me.” For a few moments, he simply sat there in silence. The warm sunlight touched his face. His eyes slowly closed. He was almost asleep when— BANG! Bludey's eyes immediately opened. “What was that?” He stood up and looked around. Another sound came from the kitchen. Clatter… Bludey narrowed his eyes. “Someone's in here…” He quietly walked toward the kitchen, trying not to make too much noise despite his size. When he reached the doorway, he stopped. There was a small figure standing on top of a chair, desperately trying to reach something from the highest shelf. Bludey stared for a moment. Then he sighed. “Seriously?” The figure turned around in surprise. “B-Bludey!” Bludey crossed his arms. “What are you doing up there?” “I… I was trying to get the cookies.” Bludey raised an eyebrow. “The cookies that I specifically put on the highest shelf so nobody would eat them?” The little one froze. “…Maybe.” Bludey tried to stay serious. But after a few seconds, he couldn't help laughing. “Hahaha! You really thought you could reach them?” The little one looked embarrassed. “I'm hungry…” Bludey's expression immediately softened. He walked over and gently lifted the little one down from the chair. “Alright, alright. You don't have to climb furniture just because you're hungry.” Bludey reached up and grabbed the cookie container effortlessly. He opened it and handed over a few cookies. “There. Happy?” The little one smiled brightly. “Thank you!” Bludey smiled back. “Don't eat them all at once.” “Okay!” Bludey watched as the little one happily munched on the cookies. For some reason, his exhaustion didn't feel quite as heavy anymore. He walked back into the living room and sat down again. The little one followed him. “Bludey?” “Hmm?” “Were you tired today?” Bludey looked down. “Very.” “Then why did you help everyone?” Bludey was quiet for a moment. He looked toward the window. Outside, the sunlight was beginning to disappear behind the buildings. “I guess…” he said slowly, “because sometimes people need someone strong enough to help them.” The little one tilted their head. “But who helps you when you're tired?” Bludey didn't answer immediately. That question caught him off guard. He had spent so much time helping everyone else that he had almost forgotten what it felt like to ask someone to help him. Eventually, he smiled. “Maybe I don't need anyone.” The little one frowned. “That sounds lonely.” Bludey blinked. Lonely. The word stayed in his mind. He looked around the room. The quiet house. The empty chair. The sunlight fading away. For the first time that day, Bludey realized how quiet everything became when he wasn't helping someone. Then the little one climbed onto the couch beside him. “You don't have to be alone,” they said. Bludey stared at them. Then he chuckled softly. #bluedy #furrytiktok #furryfritz #furrycommunity #furryart
