@ev.jacque: We spend a lot of time talking about the people who cause the hurt, but not nearly enough time talking about the people who have the opportunity to make a difference. Think back to when you were in school. Chances are, you can remember somebody who was regularly picked on. Maybe they dressed differently, struggled socially, had a difficult home life, or simply didn't fit into whatever ridiculous definition of normal the other kids had decided was acceptable that year. And if you were the kid being picked on, you probably remember something else. You remember the people who laughed along, the people who pretended not to notice, and maybe, if you were fortunate, you remember the person who was kind to you when being kind wasn't particularly popular. Sometimes that person didn't do anything extraordinary. Maybe they invited you to sit with them at lunch, chose you as a partner, or simply treated you like you belonged. But when you're accustomed to feeling unwanted, being included can mean more than the person offering that kindness will ever understand. I think about that now because adulthood doesn't automatically put an end to bullying. We still encounter people who enjoy embarrassing others, making cruel jokes, or using someone else's differences as entertainment. And we still get to decide whether we participate. You don't have to confront every unkind person you encounter, especially when doing so could put you in danger. But you can refuse to laugh. You can check on the person being targeted. You can offer support, report harmful behavior, or make sure someone knows they aren't facing it alone. And if you're carrying memories of being bullied, please remember that the way people treated you was never a reliable measure of your worth. You deserved kindness then, and you deserve it now. So today, look for an opportunity to be the person who makes somebody feel included. You might never know how much it mattered. Share this with someone whose kindness made a difference in your life, and follow Daily Encouragement for more reminders that small acts of compassion can leave lasting impressions. #KeepGoing #DailyEncouragement #stopbullying ##EndBullying #YouMatter
