My ex almost killed me. He beat me until he thoight I was dead. He called his best friend to help "get rid of her". As I was gaining consciousness i heard them planning on where to take my body. I was in another room. I got up (broken skull, wrist, arm and ankle) and ran out the door, jumped the balcony and ran until someone saw me and took me in and hid me until the ambulance came. I knew if I didn't leave that day he would have finished the job.

I miss my Mom so damn much💔 She was so kind and vibrant and full of life. She was a 5th grade teacher who was so involved with the community and had a million friends and was the best mom in the world. I try to keep her memory alive by embracing her kindness and showing up for others but it is so hard to talk about it. As I am now growing as an adult it kills me how she won’t be there to see me get married next year. She didn’t get to see me graduate college. She won’t ever meet her future grandchildren.

my mom and two younger brothers were killed at the start of the year by my moms fiancé because she wanted to leave him, me and my dad had tried to report him for making threats to me multiple times and they never listened, we need to be the voice for people who cannot do it themselves

The men are way too quiet in these comments. And that alone is a huge red flag. It says enough. I hope there's more charities and more resources women can use because with the Jane Doe case being an open topic people talk about(share their own experiences), men are getting angrier.

I did my degree capstone on femicide in Latin America and part of my research also looked at femicide in the US. It’s absolutely appalling that we don’t use the word femicide to describe what’s happening. It is absolutely brutal

my beautiful bestfriend who was killed by her boyfriend in 2024. she was the kindest, silliest, most genuine woman i had ever met. she was ready to leave, we had a plan to get her out. he shot her 9 times in our kitchen. she was 29. i will never get to laugh with her again, all at the hands of an angry man. i will never move on. they want us dead.
