Are you getting close to your due date? 🤰💕 Knowing the signs of labour can help you feel more prepared for your baby's arrival! 🌸 Early Signs of Labour You may notice increased pelvic pressure, backache, mild period-like cramps, or a mucus plug sometimes called the “show.” These signs can happen hours or days before active labour, and some women experience very few early signs. 💗 True Labour vs. Braxton Hicks True labour contractions generally become stronger, longer and closer together over time. Braxton Hicks contractions are usually irregular and do not follow the same progressive pattern. However, symptoms can vary, so contact your maternity team if you are unsure. 🩷 When Should You Contact the Hospital? ✨ If your waters break, even without contractions. ✨ If you have vaginal bleeding. ✨ If contractions become regular or painful, following your maternity team's advice. ✨ If your baby moves less than usual or their normal movement pattern changes. ✨ If you have severe abdominal pain, a severe headache or blurred vision. 🚨 Important: If you are under 37 weeks and think labour may be starting, seek urgent maternity assessment. Do not wait for contractions to become five minutes apart. Reduced baby movements also need prompt assessment—never assume the baby is moving less because there is less room. 👜 Keep your hospital bag ready, save your maternity unit's contact number, and discuss your birth plan with your healthcare provider. Every pregnancy is different, and not every woman experiences the same labour signs. Save this post and share it with a mom-to-be who may find it helpful! 💕 📌 Educational information only. Follow your healthcare provider's advice for your individual pregnancy. #SignsOfLabour #LabourSigns #TrueLabour #BraxtonHicks #PregnancyWeek37
