TEXAS SHERIFF’S DEPUTY FIRED AFTER POSING WITH JAIL INMATES IN PHOTOS SHOWING OBSCENE GESTURES A young Texas sheriff’s deputy has been fired after photos surfaced on social media showing her posing with jail inmates, including one image in which she and an inmate flipped their middle fingers at the camera. The deputy, identified as Karla Beltran, worked for the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office in San Antonio, Texas. According to reports published on October 14, 2026, she had only started working for the department on July 1. The photographs showed Beltran wearing her uniform while posing with female detainees who were separated from her by glass. In one image, she made a kissy face and flashed peace signs while two inmates mimicked her gestures. Another photograph showed her sticking out her tongue and raising both middle fingers toward the camera as an inmate did the same behind the glass. The images reportedly appeared on social media and raised questions about the professional standards expected of detention officers. The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Beltran was terminated on Monday, October 12. At the time, she was still within her one-year probationary period, during which employees can be dismissed for failing to meet departmental conduct or performance standards. Beltran could not be reached for comment, according to reports. The precise circumstances surrounding the photographs have not been publicly established. What do you think? Was firing the deputy justified, considering the professional standards expected inside a jail? #TexasNews #SheriffsDeputy #BexarCounty #PoliceNews #BreakingNews
