@cecewoodsmedia: Another story related to the July 2025 explosion that killed three detectives and the missing grenade scandal, is the criminal case against an LASD commander that was presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office regarding photos taken at the scene of the explosion. Local news outlets were ALL OVER IT when the case was presented to the DA. But when the DA REJECTED THE CASE? Suddenly, silence. Not nearly as sensational when the outcome doesn’t fit the original narrative, is it? And here’s what makes this story even more troubling. The entire investigation began with an unsubstantiated rumor, fueled by LASD communications director Nicole Nishida and commander Jennifer Seetoo - both @LACoSheriff Robert Luna loyalists. According to the DA’s rejection memorandum (included in my article), Nishida refused to identify the reporter who relayed the rumor, while Seetoo’s purported media source had never seen the alleged photographs. Investigators found no evidence of the alleged photograph and no evidence that the scene photograph taken from a distance, and within the scope of the commander’s duties, was used improperly. The bigger question: Who benefits when an unsubstantiated rumor becomes a criminal investigation, but the rejection barely makes a headline? The real scandal here? The ongoing incompetence under Sheriff Robert Luna’s administration, which continues to cripple the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
